Qahwa Talks was created on a simple belief: learning doesn't end when your degree does.
We believe that the best intellectual exchange happens in informal spaces — over coffee, in conversation, with people who actually care about thinking together.
Our mission is to bring professors, experts, and curious minds together in Doha's cafés for 45-minute conversations that matter. No lecture hall formality. No performance. Just ideas over coffee.
We curate conversations with professors and experts on topics worth thinking through aloud. Each session is 45 minutes of lecture followed by open dialogue with an engaged, small audience.
We believe:
Dialogue activates different parts of your brain than passive listening. When you engage in conversation — when you have to respond, think, push back — learning becomes deeper and stickier.
Some of the best intellectual work in history happened in coffeehouses, not universities. From the Scottish Enlightenment to Ottoman salons, informal spaces create conditions for real thinking.
Expert knowledge shouldn't be locked behind formal institutions. We bring it to cafés, where anyone curious enough to show up can participate.
We bring serious thinkers to discuss ideas worth understanding deeply.
Expert thinking shouldn't require a degree. It requires curiosity.
Learning is better together. We're building intellectual community in Doha.
Doha is a city of curious minds — students, educators, professionals, lifelong learners from all over the world. We're creating a space for those people to gather, think together, and engage with ideas that matter.
One conversation at a time, one café at a time.
